OUR STORY

The origin of the Foundation dates back to the international experience and vision of its founder, José María Figueres, who has maintained close relationships with world leaders such as Richard Branson and Bill Clinton. A staunch advocate of sustainable development, Figueres used his global platform to drive real change in Costa Rica and beyond. From its earliest years, the Foundation has been dedicated to forging strategic alliances with governments, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector to propel innovative initiatives in education and sustainability.

The Entebbe Foundation continues to expand its impact, aiming to influence public policies at both the national and international levels. As the world faces increasingly significant challenges related to climate change and inequality, the Foundation remains steadfast in its commitment to lead by example and provide innovative solutions. Looking to the future, it plans to broaden its network of allies and continue developing projects that combine economic development with environmental responsibility.
